The School of International Studies (SIS) provides world-class training for students who are preparing to actively contribute to the globalization of Japan. Japanese and international students within the SIS obtain fundamental knowledge about the international community, deepen their understanding of selected regions and broaden their awareness of the global and regional connections to Japan and Japanese culture. At the same time, through extensive dialogue with professors and interaction with other students who are cultivating global-minded perspectives, students develop and improve their international communication skills in Japanese and/or English as well as in other languages. The School of International Studies offers five courses; A Global Studies Course, a Japanese Studies Course, an Asian Studies Course, an American-British Studies Course and a European Studies Course.
